This is the condo complex where we stayed. It is literally right next door to Cheryl & John's house {which you can see in the photo to the left}.
The place was gorgeous! Complete with its own pool and access to the beach.
We spent a lot of time hanging out on the beach, both during the day, and around 5p when we'd form a circle of chairs and enjoy happy hour! We brought down appetizers and snacks, and poured our beer and wine into Solo cups, and enjoyed a drink and some yummy eats beachside.
Here's Larry kicking back.
Becky & Karl
Yes, Karl was THAT sunburnt. Ouchie!
Leslie & Aunt Helen Ann hanging out on the porch at Cheryl's house- easily one of the most beautiful spots. The view looks out over the various sea grasses that make their way down to the beach, and there's a cooling breeze that make it so comfortable you never want to leave.
Uncle Ray and Larry enjoying happy hour the first night Dan and I were there. There was always something to laugh about!!
Thursday night we decided to go out to eat (after happy hour on the beach). We had planned to get fish & chips etc (no, not me, I was aiming for chicken fingers) from this place called Bostons (yeah, I know, we flew all the way to Florida for that?!) When we got there they assured us the fish was "flew in from Boston just today" we said we had too! The place was packed, so we headed to their sit-down restaurant called The Upper Deck. It was a bit of a disasterous night. Come to find out, the place had only been open for about 2 week. The service was brutally slow (I think it took over 2 hours to get our food), but with our waiter Neal it was a highly amusing night.
Dan and I sat with Leslie, Larry and Becky. We had so many laughs. Neal was cracking us up sharing his screen name "Neal down biatch" which became the tag line of the week.... drinking our free bottle of wine with us out of a styrofoam cup he'd sneak around with him... and just generally being as goofy as he looks! :)
It was a riot!!
We spent the 4th of July- Thad's birthday, parting at Cheryl and John's house.
Aunt Nancy & Aunt Helen Ann
Danny & Uncle Ray watching the action over by the birthday cake.
Saturday July 5th, Larry and Uncle Thad were programming their scanners on the porch at Cheryl's.
We had so much fun at the race that night. It really deserves its own post [but this one has already taken me weeks!!].
The track is mammoth!
We had amazing seats
The race was SO close with Dale Jr. making his was into 1st at least 7 or 8 times. The end of the race was so close, and even though stupid Kyle Bush won- Carl Edwards came in 2nd so I wasn't completely depressed about it.
Just had to get a shot of THIS!
TOO FUNNY!
Usually advertising kinda bugs me. This is just amusing.
