We've MOVED!!!

Finally!!
We're in!
No more apartment
I turned in the keys yesterday

It was a whirlwind weekend.


Friday after work:
Mom and Dad helped me clean the entire apartment
and packed up more stuff to go to their house


Saturday:
Dan moved the last load of furniture to Mom and Dad's
with John's help (thanks!!)
I started unpacking at the house
Matt, Kris and Will came over to see us (after their trip to Ireland)
Kris and I found new homes for things in the kitchen :) (thanks Krissy!!)

Sunday:
I went shopping with Mom and Gail
We scored big time at Kohls.
After a probably three month search for
the perfect dishes
plain
yet colorful
and sturdy
(seemingly impossible)
we found these
and these
i love them
dan loves them
we're very happy (and nerdy, yes)

then home (*yes home!!) to host our very first
taco night!
krissy, matt, little willy and dave
joined us for tacos
and homemade guacamole mmmmmmmmmmm
it was a great night
then matt and krissy were total stars
and helped me unpack all of the dishes
and take off any labels
so i could wash them
and put them away
in their new homes
[mental note: need to take a picture of them
looking all pretty and organized in the cabinet]

Monday:
i had the day off
went to the apartment
cleaned out the dishwasher,
the silverware drawer
and the fridge
took one last look around
got a little more emotional than i expected
put the keys on the counter
and walked away
bye bye apartment
we had some fun years
but its time for someone new to try you out

then it was off to the basement
to organize
all of the stuff that will find a home in the soon-to-be-finished-basement
needed to be properly stored until such time
so now everything's in rubbermaid bins
ready and waiting
(a good project for monday
it was hot hot hot upstairs)

the rest of monday was spent on more unpacking...
and then dan coming home to deal with more plumbing issues
ever since the new well/pump was installed
its not working right...

and that's how we started off

Tuesday
dan was up in the middle of the night
with the pump that just won't quit
he shut off the water
so no showers tuesday morning
and i only got to brush my teeth
because i found a 3 day old, warm bottled water in my car
good morning
welcome to your first morning of work in the new house
oh well!
it happens
and it will be fixed

throughout the process
i haven't taken 1 picture
who am i?!
looking at the mess has been bad enough
guess i didn't want to capture it for all times
but now i'm realizing that i don't have new pictures
of most of the rooms
whoops!
i'll get on that.
