I bought my walking sneakers today!
I had a wonderful experience at the Greater Bosting Running Club at Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham. They started with gait testing- watching how I walked. The salesman said my left arch tends to lean in a little bit (which I sorta knew but never paid much attention to). He put an orthotic in the sneakers and it made a huge difference.
I must have tried on 10 or 12 pairs of sneakers. Sometimes with a different sneaker on each foot, trying to narrow it down. He was sooo helpful and patient without being pushy at all. Of course it ended up that I chose the first pair I'd tried on. Asics 2140's. I can't wait to try them out. If they work really well, I'll get a second pair to alternate between. Otherwise, there was a pair of New Balance that I liked too that I could try if need be.
It was 64 degrees today. The snow is melting. With any luck I'll be walking outside within the week!!
