monday again

but at least this one is sunny.
that helps!
figured i'd do a quick update and then i can focus on adding pictures and stuff later.

last week was a short work week.
i had friday off in lieu of saturday *independence day
dan took the day off.
i walked 8 miles in the morning
(to get it over with before we headed to the Cape).
Joey and Claudia arrived at our house around 10am
with their new bulldog June Bug (Juney) in tow (she's CUTE)
dan made a delicious breakfast
--chocolate chip pancakes
--eggs with cheddar and scallions MMMMMMMMMMM!
then we headed down the Cape
in 4 separate vehicles!
how unGREEN is that?!
the boys wanted to ride their bikes.
and Joey & Claudia weren't sure if they'd come home
on Saturday or Sunday so they needed Claudia's car too.
oh well. we didn't hit a ton of traffic, but when we did
i stayed on battery as long as possible
to help make up for our very large carbon footprint of an adventure

we arrived at Bernie's (Joey's dad's) a little after noon.
Joe and Dan hauled 5 yards of loom out of the driveway to the sideyard
to pretty things up for the 4th of July party.
Claudia and I hung out, jeered and cheered a little
and played with the dog.

when the work was done we had a cookout
and some drinks :)
ed, erica and the kids came down for the evening
so we had a great time with them
they drove home around 9:30 or 10p
and us old fogies were in bed by 10:30!

saturday was another hot sunny day.
i took a 4 mile walk around falmouth
looking at the ocean and taking in the sun
yaay for Vitamin D!

then we all got cleaned up and headed to breakfast
another yummy meal!
followed by a bike ride
yes! dan let me ride with him on the bike!
i feel so special :)
(its literally a once every 3 years or so kind of thing)
we drove through woods hole and back through falmouth
along the coast line the whole way.
breathtaking views!

bernie's annual party started in the afternoon
john came down
ed, erica and the kids came back
michelle and her friend heather joined us

stayed there until around 6p
when we headed to pocasset
to the house that the carters and cummings rented
what. a. view.
it was unreal!
gorgeous sunset there.
drank, played some games.
i even got to see some fireworks
because they were about 8 miles away *at our best guess)
and they were low!
a GREAT combination for my sensitive eyes!
two years in a row actually being able to see fireworks!
how cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we slept there and headed back yesterday morning
where we enjoyed some lazy time on the couch
watching Burn Before Reading & Milk
finally after my whining, Dan put on a movie i didn't like
which forced me off the couch
and outside to talk a walk
came home and cleaned a bit
then fell sound asleep for about an hour

we had tacos for dinner (i think i've almost perfected my veggie version of the taco)
and watched 4 episodes of Rescue Me on DVD (thanks Matt & Kris)

doesn't get much better than that does it?!
be back soon with new photos.
until then... enjoy the sun!!
