LOVING the Children's Museum

Sunday February 14, 2010

The boys planned a big party for the Daytona 500 at our house. Sure. That sounds like fun... not a traditional Valentine's Day event but I enjoy watching the race. "Oh no, I was thinking you and Kris could take the kids somewhere and leave the race to us" says Dan. Um ok. Love you too hunny! hahaha!

And so we did. Krissy, Will, Aila, Megg, Emelyn, Oisin and I went to Children's Museum.
It was a chilly day! Emelyn wasn't quite prepared but she borrowed Willy's hat and put her sunglasses on like goggles. I think we got a few looks along the way- good thing she's cute enough to pull it off!
The kids had a blast with the activities. We must have played at this golf ball cyclone for at least a half hour! Just plopping 'em in and watching 'em go round and round!
Aila didn't get to play with the balls but she was having fun just taking in all the commotion.
Next we moved onto a room that had a rock climbing wall- which Emelyn tried out. Some basketball hoops which she and Willy enjoyed- and then a light up dance floor which all 3 of the big kids had fun with.
This was another favorite. When you sit on this seat and push down hard, a ball goes flying up that tube. The kids weren't really heavy enough to do it on their own, but that didn't stop Oisin from trying!
The next room we went into had cars for the boys to ride in and a big train set, some stamps that Emelyn enjoyed-- and a whole room just for crawlers! Aila and I were the only ones in there. Crawling around, playing with balls and other toys that were just right for her.

Before we knew it, the museum was closing. We had about 5 minutes to hit the Arthur plane! Willy had been looking forward to it all day. Doesn't he look like a pro?
Not quite sure who is co-pilot was, but they just clicked (the boy sure is dressed for the part isn't he?!?!) He was a cutie pie with little braids!
So not quite the Valentine's Day of every girl's dream, but we certainly had fun! I meant to take a picture of Megg, Kris and me but it was just too hectic and I forgot.

When the museum closed we headed to South Station and got dinner at the food court, and ate upstairs next to some crazy homeless lady. lol. the kids had NO idea! :)

We got home around 6p and the race was STILL on! Apparently there were 3 rain delays during what the boys termed "the most boring race of all times!" So we got to see the end and hang out with the gang for awhile.

Loved every minute!
