Busy Bee

That's me lately. Busy as a bee. Can't complain. I like it :)

Winter Scrapfest on Lifetime Moments has gotten me back into the swing of scrapbooking again! Hooray.

Here are the second two LOs of New Year's Eve at the Canoe Club.

Love this photo of Dan taking pictures (Tim, photographer at the club took this photo- and the one of Ellen, Sheri and I on the bototm).

And these pictures of Dan and Elaine dancing to Come On Eileen are priceless!!!

I finally got around to scrapbooking the pictures of the fabulous ladies I met in November at the Lifetime Moments Crop of a Lifetime in Novi Michigan.

Page 1:

Page 2:

Decided it was time to bring more pictures and more "life" to my desk at work. Grabbed a bunch of my favorite photos and learned how to print 4 on a 4x6 piece of photo paper on my printer (what a COOL feature!!!!) and whipped this up.

And I couldn't resist getting started on 2008 pictures. How could I?! This kid is just too darn cute. Got the idea for this LO from one of the Extreme Crop Weekend challenges which was to focus on nicknames. I didn't realize until I listed them out that I call Will all sorts of different things... whatever comes out of my mouth really.

And finally some pictures of he and I together. My little buddy! :)

Besides scrapping, let's see... going with lists again.
Work has been busy but I love it.
People coming from Singapore to learn about how we use CBeds. Fun Stuff!
Watched the Daytona 500 Race at Matt & Krissy's
Jeff turned 26 (holy cow we're old!)
Jenn O'Brien's mom passed away on Sunday after a long battle with brain cancer. She fought so hard and so bravely and gave strength to so many. Such a wonderful lady. Her memory will certainly live on through her kids and grandkids.
Planning to go visit Gram in Florida in April! A little fun in the sun. Get myself a tan before Elaine and Eric's wedding- and a fabulous pedicure too (Gram called yesterday to say she found a great new place!). Need to book me a flight.

he's sooo fascinated by the camera
wants to grab it and put it in his mouth
that's not going to happen ;)
but it amuses him to think he might get his hands on it

love the little classic pooh outfit
got this for him awhile back
on sale at target
couldn't resist
let's face it
boy's can only wear
winnie-the-pooh
for so long!
gotta do it while its still acceptable ;)

<-- another tongue shot. happy, sad, confused. the tongue's always there. must be tough growing teeth! and the drooling's out of control. but its cute.

new layouts to share

Spend Sunday scrapbooking and here are the results:

these bath pictures are from september. look how little will is! :) he sure does love the bath, though- splashing= fun

Christmas 2007
Of course I didn't take as many pictures as I should have, and Mom may have some more I
should print up and include, but this gives a peek into the holiday season Lassonde-style... and since Christmas scrapping usually is really hard for me, I'm glad to have gotten even this much done.

New Year's Eve- 12*31*07
Canoe Club
I still need to print some more pictures but these are two sets of my favorites. Dan's Mom. How beautiful is she?!
And then there's Jamie. My favorite bartender at the Canoe Club. And judging by the closeness of he and Danny in these pictures, I'm going out on a limb to assume the same is true for him ;)
I love how this LO turned out. I partially scraplifted from a LO in Creating Keepsakes. I need to go back and see what issue so I can give credit. Like how the blue mixes with the orange. Thought I'd never find something to match (if only Dan's blue shirt hadn't ripped!!!! doesn't he know he needs to coordinate his outfits with my scrapbook paper?!)

picked it up in a snap

dear will:

i am continually impressed with just how smart you are. learning new things and trying new things all the time and just being so thoughtful about all of it. i swear i can see your little wheels turning in that big noggin' of yours (hey, uncle danny calls me squash, so i'm allowed to say you have a big noggin', ok? ok :)

last night i babysat you. you were in a great mood as usual. no crying when mommy and da-da (as he's trying to teach you to call him) left the house. we bounced around for a few minutes and as usual i had you on my right hip and was snapping my fingers on my left hand. almost instantly you started snapping with your right hand! i was shocked. you were even using the correct fingers (thumb and middle finger- not index like most kids try first). i would tell you how proud i was that you were doing it and you'd beam with pride.

then eventually i switched sides, so i was snapping with my right hand. i look at you. no snapping with your left hand. but as i peeked around, i could see you were still snapping with your right hand!! clever little guy.

as soon as your mom got home i asked "how long has he been able to snap his fingers?"
she looked at me with a blank stare.
"he can snap???"
yes mom he can.

i bounced you again and you went right along with it.
such a little show off, but you're so smart, that's ok.
one smart cookie you are.
and i love you!

love auntie jen

p.s. next time i come over please ask your mom to warn me about your reaction to real food! i was so excited to feed you big boy food (after all, you DO look like a big boy sitting up tall in your high chair). well, little did i know that apples were going make your eyes roll around and that your whole body would twitch like you were having a seizure!! poor desperate little face. you'd think i was force feeding you a mouth full of sour patch kids. but you hung in there for a bit. opening your mouth and trying again and again. you see us eat all the time- and are grabbing for our food, smacking your gums. so i think that you get that you are "supposed to eat like us" but its going to take a little bit of getting used to... to say the least.

let's hope for better success with bananas.

Train Vent/ Pet Peeve
-The whole point of headphones is to have a personal listening experience (right?!) and yet everyday I am forced to listen to a variety of clashing tunes all the way home on the train. Is it the invention of the earbud which allows the sound to spill out? Or are people just listening too loud? I don't know, but it drives me nuts!!! Turn it down! Save your ears- and keep your [insert random music genre here] to yourself. Thank you

went to vote. go obama (found out hilary won MA this morning).
talked to lansing on teh phone. great to catch up.

Forgot about Philly!

Well I didn't really forget about it {how could I, I had so much fun!} but I am just realizing that I forgot to blog it!

I got Philly around 9:00p on Friday. Made great time with very little hassle thanks to Dad's Garmin. Christine and I said our hellos and unpacked my car and then headed out to the diner since she hadn't eaten, and well, its a good place to sit and talk over coffee!

Saturday morning we were up and out, excited to meet up with Keri and Gayle in downtown Philadelphia at Rouge for breakfast, as Christine coined, "as big as our heads" which is not too far from the truth. It was by far the best French Toast I've ever eaten and the blackberries on top were just a lovely little bonus!

After breakfast we hit the streets of Philly for some serious shopping! Christine was on a mission for wedding and bridal shower outfits for the numerous occasions she has coming up this Spring. Keri and Gayle were dying to hit up Sephora and Gayle needed some new work clothes. We had a lot to look for, and we did really well.

This one store, Lush, was what they kept talking about all day. I had never been there.. never heard of it... I'm not really into all that fancy bath stuff so I wasn't all that intrigued. But Keri wasn't giving up that easily.

She convinced me that if I bought nothing else I had to try "Buffy."http://www.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/2127

$10 for a bar of soap. Not something I usually do. But I trusted Keri... and boy was she right. This thing is magic. It exfoliates and yet leaves your skin softer than anything I've ever felt in my life! Definitely well worth it, even if it is in the splurge department.

Clearly we did a lot of shopping. I think Gayle bought something in every single store we went in!

I was reasonably good. I bought some new pants at Gap and they had some really cute undies on sale :)

Then it was time for a rest- and some caffeine to get us through the day.

{Man I look tanned! First weekend after vacation. Wish that kept longer}

For dinner we went to Ruby Tuesday near where we were shopping. Gayle's two beautiful daughters joined us. We ate some more unhealthy food and had great conversation and a lot of laughs before calling it a day.

Christine and I headed home. We played Wii golf and tennis and bowling. Too funny! Who knew I could bowl?! But apparently my tennis lessons were an absolute waste of money!!!

Sunday- Christine, Seamus and I went out for a late breakfast. Mmmmm. Then back to their house where Christine and I scrapped all day!!It was a perfect weekend. Just what I needed. Lots of talking, Christine's great for listening, retail therapy and way too much yummy food! :)
I made my way back home on Monday. Made great time and didn't get lost, thanks to Dad's handy navigation system. A great trip! Will definitely need to do it again soon.

I won!

Last night I wasn't in the mood to go out... Dan was going to Shawn's to play cards with the boys; I had hoped we were going out to dinner but forgot that Shawn had Isabelle until Ellen got home from work. I wasn't planning to go and at the last minute I changed my mind. Figured why not?
And that decision sure paid off! I won two rounds of Texas Hold 'Em against Dan, Shawn, Ellen, Stanley and Chris!!! I've never won before and I won twice in one night! I was on fire. It was so much fun. I got decent cards for the most part, but also have a better handle on when and how much to bet. And I guess I just had a good combination of the two going for me. I came home with an extra $25 in my pocket after playing a little more and giving Danny some money (figured that was only fair since he pays for me to play {read: LOSE} every week).
The best part? I beat Chris both times! He hates losing and bets really big which usually just scares me, but he's also a bit reckless. I'm also pretty sure that he hates the idea of losing to a girl.
So it was a fun night! Maybe I'll do it again sometime.

Tales from another Tuesday Afternoon

1/29/08

Will and I have more fun each and every week. He's getting so big and is able to play and react and just have more interactive fun! So here's another account of our playdates- I swear, I'm like my own Nanny-cam (no need to monitor me, Matt & Kris!).

Will just loves this Leap-Frog inch worm. http://www.leapfrog.com/en/learning_toys/babypal.html
It sings as it counts from 1 to 5 (Krissy's working on continuing the song to count to 10 because, well, counting to 5 isn't enough!). Will laughs and flails his little arms, especially for number 1 (1 little birdie sings so sweet, 1 fluffy cloud and 1 big tweet) and number 4 (4 little flowers blowing in the breeze, 4 little flowers pretty as you please).
Another favorite activity that's hard to get on camera- is fluttering a blanket or burp rag over Will while he's lying on the floor. He literally shakes with pleasure and laughs uncontrollably. Its so contagious!! Well, that's hard to take pictures of, unless there's someone else's there-- but apparently standing over him and waving my hands has the same effect. He was going crazy! :)

Due to eat at 6:30, by 6:20 Will was pretty crabby. I was trying to keep him occupied for the last few minutes while his bottle was heating-- and was eating my pizza at the same time so when he was ready to eat, I'd be ready to feed him. Well apparently he's well more aware of what's going on than he used to be- because when I was eating my pizza he was piiiiissed!!!! Smacking his gums and and screaming when I'd put the pizza in my mouth and not his! I know he's ready for more solid food but with no teeth I figured pizza wasn't the place to start.
Fortunately the camera keeps him interested and occupied. And he liked seeing what was IN my mouth so, hey, why not? It kept him from crying... and there's nothing like being gross for a few minutes every once in awhile. Auntie Jen can hang with the boys every now and then ;)
