Yes, I'm still catching up on posts
and pictures.
This one is from Wednesday June 10, 2009.
The day I turned 29!
Sounds OLD doesn't it?!
I'm not the type to be bothered by the numbers
usually
but this one seemed different
at least for a day
I'm over it now :)
Mom had gotten tickets for my birthday
when we went to Christmas at Fenway
and I got the tickets as a Christmas gift.
After much hemming and hawing,
Dan decided he wasn't going to come
[probably a good call since he'd have gotten
less than 4 hours sleep if he'd come with us]
so I took Matt as my 'date'
and of course Mom and Dad came too.
After spending the day in a training session for work,
about a block away from the Prudential building (on the left here),
I met Mom, Dad and Matt at Game On for dinner
and a couple celebratory Corona's!
Mom has some more pictures, but here's a few from the game itself.

A cool running shot of Derek Jeter.
Then came Okajima.
The huddle at the mound. Francona hands him the ball.
They each did a great job! It was a close game. But the Sox won 6-5.

To get to our seats, we walked up by the Green Monster seats,
and then over to the Pavilion Club
(rockin seats! great view, on the 3rd base side. Mike Lowell. yum. 'nuff said.)
Love this shot. Cropped down from a larger view of the seats below. A typical family. Early for the game. Enjoying hotdogs & pizza and anticipating an evening of baseball. Past time. Tradition. Fenway.
Every time I'm there. So here's a different take. Some filtering, and some sepia.

A cool running shot of Derek Jeter.
I'll spare you the oodles more (mostly because I haven't had time to edit them yet)
The Red Sox pitching rotation for the night.
Tim Wakefield.
Will you look at the gut?! I know he's getting up there, but wow! Guess the concerns are unfounded though because he pitched a great game.
Then came Okajima.
The huddle at the mound. Francona hands him the ball.
And cue the Drop Kick Murphy's. Here comes Papelbon.
They each did a great job! It was a close game. But the Sox won 6-5.
Beating the Yankees for the 7th time, out of 7 games in 2009! Now that's something to celebrate!
