last weekend i got to hang out with my babe, Riley. i went over to jeff and melissa's a little after 5am on saturday so they could leave for the airport, headed off to sunny Punta Cana for their honeymoon. riley was starting to stir and i thought for sure she'd wake up soon after... but still i laid down on the sofa and buffy made herself comfy cuddle up in my legs, and before i knew it, it was 8am!!
i woke up with a headache that morning and unfortunately it didn't go away with that extra sleep. still we forged on. riley and i had some breakfast then packed up her stuff. first we had to go to matt & krissy's because dan forgot his wallet there when we were visiting the night before. we had a nice early morning visit with willy and matt, and then kris came down a little while later. willy was sooo happy to see "Rye!! Rye!!" as soon as she walked in, he was kissing her and trying to hug her and pat her head, getting down on one knee (then two) so he could see her better and be on her level. it was soo freakin funny. she didn't know what to make of him at first, but then she came around.
in the car on the way back to my house, we danced and clapped and snapped to some of my favorite songs. i snapped a few shots at the red lights.
then rested the camera on the center console and caught my girl clapping along to the music! :)
we hung out in scituate for a bit. cleaned the house because dan was expecting some company that night, then we headed out for a walk. 2.6 miles. it was beautiful morning! took this quick shot when we hit the half way point. silly girl wouldn't keep her sunglasses on.
then we came home and had some lunch, showered up. and tried to relax. at this point my head was raging. i think i pushed myself a little too hard with the walk... but i was still trying to suffer through it, bummed that because of my upcoming surgery i couldn't take anything i'd normally take for the pain.
riley is SUCH a classic GIRL! she's obsessed with phones (or anything that looks like it could possible be a phone). she took my phone,
put it up to her ear and started talking (and waving hello... just in case the caller on the other end could see her) then she proceeded to walk right out the front door (holding my hand) and would just walk back and forth across my deck, talking and laughing like she was catching up with a long lost friend. first of MANY times she'll do that in her life i'm sure.
then it was nap time. after her bubba we both got in my big bed and took a nice long nap! again, i was hoping it would cure my headache but it didn't... oh well. sitting home thinking about the headache was making it worse, so we headed to matt and krissy's.
these shots just kill me. sometime in the past couple months riley has turned into a complete ham in front of the camera. it cracks me up. look at those eyes. and that smile.
and as much as this one is out of focus, its so very riley that i had to share. a little blurry because she's just moving WAY too fast. have to keep going. keep playing. keep having fun.
we had a lot of fun hanging on the deck with matt, krissy, willy and aila. willy is thoroughly obsessed with riley which is adorable. they were playing together, laughing and having a good time. unfortunately by the time dinner for the adults rolled around at about 8p my head was just roaring. i skipped dinner and took riley to grammy and pepere's to go straight to bed.

woke up sunday morning with riley around 6:30. head still pounding :( she snuggled with me in bed for awhile and we finally got up around 7am. thankfully mom and dad got home from the airport (they'd been in vegas for the week) around 8am and relieved me of baby duty. i got some more sleep but when i woke up at 11:30a, STILL a headache. this was getting ridiculous. finally around 1p we were having lunch and dad pointed out that everyone can take tylenol and that he was surprised i couldn't take that. so i called dan to look at the paperwork and low and behold, i could take tylenol! dad ran to CVS and got me some rapid release tylenol and within 20 minutes the edge was starting to come off. allelulia! amazing how much a stupid headache could take me out of commission......
but that explains the fact that i don't have a ton of cutie pics of the kids lovin' up on eachother saturday. it did happen. i just didn't have the presence of mind to catch it. oh well. there's always next time.
