Here I sit in the waiting room of the doctor's office, yet again appalled at how ignorant people are. There is a woman chomping her gum so loud that it can be plainly heard through the entire waiting room. This woman is well dressed, seemingly reasonably affluent and in her 50's and yet somehow has no concept of the fact that it is impolite to chew with one's mouth open-- never mind blatantly chomping and popping the gum purposefully. In what world does that seem like a good idea? I swear its just beyond my comprehension!
Everyday it seems like the ignorance of the world is just slapping me in the face. Men sitting comfortably on trains while pregnant women search for relief from their visible strain. Kids swearing loudly in front of children and elders. Littering. The list goes on and on.
Those of you who know me know I am not a pessimist but things like this make me wonder what is happening. Just because we have the right to do a lot of things doesn't make it the right thing to do. We all have to live in this world (and this waiting room) together. Let's try to make it as comfortable as possible.
And please teach your kids to chew with their mouths closed. Please!!! :)
